7 Down 1 To Go

I’ve been trying to write this for about 2 weeks now.
My first attempt was on the 2 hour boat trip coming back from Delaware to New Jersey aboard the CMLF (Yes the Sea MILF, well thats how my warped brain perceives things)
Needless to say sea sickness is definitely not conducive to a good blogging atmosphere.
In fact that was probably the worst travel day of our whole tour. I don’t think it’s natural for human beings to be on a boat for 2 hours, drive for 3, check into an American airport and then fly backwards in time for 5 hours. Oh well boo - hoo Phil, drink a cup of cement while you call the wambulance.
The East Coast was an experience. Most of the time we were stationed in Asbury Park right on the Jersey Shore. At the moment people unfortunately equate this area with a group of emotionally retarded reality TV stars who holidayed there for a while. But it’s really rich in Music / Art history. Anyone who is a fan of Springsteen would know about the area plus we got to hang with a cool group of photographers / artists who just opened a gallery check out http://www.bulldogclip.com
We spent our last weekend at the Dewey Beach Music Conference in Delaware. We have had to attend numerous of these industry scmooze - a - thons, in most instances I have found them to be really painful. But this was different. The bands were friendlier, the people who attended actually wanted to be there and I think this is a total reflection of Lisa who organizes the whole event. You can feel that she is genuinely passionate about music, from both the industry and artists perspective. Everyone feels welcome and is encouraged to mingle without that “whats in it for me” vibe that I hate at these events.
So as I said I am finally writing this while lying on my blow up mattress that unfortunately I got short - strawed on. Our last gig of the tour is this Friday night at the Whisky. If you are in LA hit us up on Facebook for tickets www.facebook.com/rubytigers. It’s gonna be a big one. Post gig we will more than likely be hanging at our new local The Village Idiot on Melrose. I don’t normally give a shit about famous people but it was interesting to have beers there the other night with Kate Bosworth and her boyfriend who is some dude from Twilight or True Blood, don’t ask me Cass and Al are across all that vampire stuff
Wish we were gonna be here for Halloween, but it’s back home next Tuesday. Till then I look forward to another bad nights sleep .... yeah yeah time to call the wambulance again.
