Arizona Heat Coma
Tuesday, 07 September 2010
I think I lost my mind a little driving out to AZ. Not sure if it was the heat (116 degrees F) but apparantly I kept talking to Cass about Virtual Reality Chickens. ‘Nuff said about that one methinks.
Funniest sign on the trip was right outside the State Prison - PLEASE DO NOT PICK UP HITCH HIKERS. Ummmm nope ok.
Next we checked out the B I G G E S T Wal Mart that I’ve ever seen, complete with fully stocked guns and ammo section, then we played the most awesome Copper State Tavern, we had a hell of a good time in Glendale Arizona. Thanks to Nicky and the crew out there for making us feel so welcome.
Random thing is every where we go we keep meeting Aussies, even by the pool in our little hotel in Glendale we ran into a guy who is working out at ASU - first thing he asked us was where did we get our beers from - classic Aussie - ism.
After the show we got to hang out at a place called Westgate. Go ahead and Google it, basically it’s this big shopping centre / hangout with bars and a few clubs. It’s built around the Stadium for the Arizona Cardinals which is the NFL team. It seriously looks like a UFO just landed in the middle of the desert. Very Very Cool. Makes the ‘Gabba back in Brisbane look like a greyhound track.
Can’t wait to get back out to AZ, we will be doing a show in Scottsdale at The Rogue Bar on Friday Oct 8th and Tuscon on Oct 9th at O’Malleys On Fourth.
Till then it’s back in LA for a few days and then this weekend it’s VEGAS BABY!!!
